A Summer Adventure at Reach Academy

OVERVIEW: The summer between 5th and 6th grade is a big moment — you’re growing up, taking on new challenges, and getting ready for middle school. Discovery at Reach Academy is designed to make that jump exciting instead of overwhelming.

Led by experienced Reach teachers and supported by trained high-school mentors, Discovery blends hands-on learning, real-world exploration, and character-building moments into two unforgettable weeks. Every participant is noticed, supported, and encouraged to bring his best self forward.

Reach Academy has helped hundreds of boys grow in confidence, leadership, and positive connection. Now, we’re expanding that mission to the upper-elementary years — building a community where rising 6th graders can learn, belong, and feel ready for what’s ahead. Entirely in-person (IRL, not URL!), Discovery is all about showing up, trying new things, and growing together.

You’re about to start middle school. That means new teachers, new subjects, new friends — and a chance to figure out who you want to become.

Discovery at Reach Academy helps you get ready for all of it with challenge, adventure, and a lot of fun along the way.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Over two exciting weeks, you’ll join 15–20 boys your age who are curious, creative, and ready to grow. Together, you’ll learn from inspiring teachers, connect with high-school mentors, and experience what it means to be part of the Reach community.

YOUR DISCOVERY EXPERIENCE: 

Learn

     • Take three cool classes taught by dynamic Reach instructors.

     • Build the skills that make middle school easier — organization, confidence, curiosity, creativity.

     • Get a friendly introduction to the secondary school admissions process (interviews, essays, finding the right fit).

Connect

     • Team up with an 11th-grade Reach Fellow mentor — someone who’s been where you are, believes in you, and has your back.

     •  Join a fun, close-knit cohort of boys who share your spark and want to grow.

Explore

     • Dive into a hands-on Discovery project that takes learning out into the real world.

     • Experience a full-day retreat packed with adventure, teamwork, and reflection.

     • Think about who you are now — and who you’re becoming as you step into young manhood.
